Welcome to the One Health VBD Hub (vbdhub.org) 2026 training workshops!

On this site you will find the course materials and pre-work for these sessions.

 

These workshops have been developed to provide online training to the VBD community, and cover two topics:

Data visualisations in R covers visualisations commonly used in VBD research, such as abundance plots, and how we can develop these into effective visualisations. We also consider patterns and data details that can be extracted from visualisations, and how to ensure visualisations are accessible to different audiences.

Data wrangling with Hub Search and ohvbd involves navigating VBD Hub and the available resources to access VBD datasets. We will run practical examples with real VBD datasets, including accessing and wrangling complex datasets in preparation for further analyses.

The live workshops will run in March 2026, but these resources will be available for long term access.

The aim of these workshops is provide researchers with the skills to improve data communication and sharing with a variety of audiences, including academics, policymakers, and members of the public.
